很糟糕的新聞...
在美國核能電廠因為電力市場變化競爭經營不易，以致出現財務困境，讓部分電廠有提早關門的念頭，但是近年隨著氣候變遷議題發酵，諸多州如紐約、伊利諾以及俄亥俄等紛紛推出以核能是無碳能源名義的補助法案。
但就在昨天，FBI將俄亥俄州地方眾議院議長與相關涉案人士逮捕，原因為其有收賄之嫌，某能源公司(尚未確定是經營核電廠的公司) 透過民間遊說團體，提供高達六千萬資金給相關立法人士，希望可以藉此讓潔淨空氣法案(H.B. 6)通過。
而該法案已經於去年生效，及時拯救了瀕臨關廠危機的核電廠，David Besse 以及Perry核電廠可於十年間獲得每年一億五千萬的補助。但這些都可能生變... 即便該州州長到議會仍然支持該法案(且共和黨為多數)，但此效應讓其他有可能想執行類似法案的州因此卻步。
只能說美劇演的都有可能是真的，核電處境艱難下，某些公司不潔身自愛反而加速拖垮自己產業，只能說有夠丟臉... 前一起醜聞則發生於日本關西電廠收賄事件
上星期，迎來了入職以來的第100單case。
英國的development management和香港有點不同，不是事事經由城規會審批，planning officer有delegated power決定一些簡單的case, 例如householder extensions, advertisement consent, listed building consent, 甚至change of use等。
只有十分具爭議的application, 或較大型的項目，才需要上committee/panel, 由民選的議員表決。
年頭是忙碌的月份，各人的caseload都逐漸累積至近60 💀
Total 59便是我了。
上星期過了一個巔峰，
一共12隻case due。
今個星期終於可以輕鬆一點。
Director的目標是希望把ongoing的case維持在300以下的。
每個case一般有8星期的處理時間，原先訂立的目標是5星期便可以完成。但隨著application瘋狂湧入，平均每人每天都獲派2-3隻新cases，再加上有能力sign off case的senior嚴重短缺，能夠在statutory deadline前結申請人一個決定，已是萬幸了。
我們有個business improvement project manager做各式的表keep track大家的performance。
以前先每日都有5分鐘的performance catch up, 自從我入職後不久已經取消了。
但不知是因沒有了「鞭策」，
還是新case實在太多，
大家都開始有d鬆散了 🙈
人還是有惰性的 😛
