Yesterday was quite a hard day cuz I got a second opinion confirming that my kitchen island has to be dismantled to get the 1st floor bathroom pipe fixed. Why does it have to be this pipe? 🥲 I meant just look at my grey quartz curvy island, my newly painted, patterned PHOMI Malaysia wall and my fancy Nano Shield Inovar Floor Malaysia laminate flooring. I know there’s a solution but it’s just too much, I’ll risk damaging them all.
Please do respect that I do not want to reveal the developer/location for privacy reason, they’re taking responsibilities for now. I’ll do it the right way without causing unnecessary prejudice.
Here’s what I learnt:
1. When you do defect checks after taking your keys, outsource to another plumber to check, then claim the defects fixes with your developer. (My neighbour did this but some unexpected problems still popped after moving in)
2. Ask your developer contractor roughly where the hidden pipes are IN the wall to avoid hitting the pipes in the wall when you drill water heater/water filter on. (Leakage in the wall is GG)
3. You’ll NEVER KNOW until you really move in and STAY/USE for a period of time. If you can, try showering and using the toilets before renovation. Thank goodness I did not do any renovation for my bathrooms and the 1st floor, so I can prove that it’s a developer defect.
4. Always look out for random water puddle in the bathroom, it could be pipe/faucet leakage.
5. Check your water meter frequently when you first move in, you might be able to spot any problem early.
6. Do not be afraid, your last resort is to file complaint to KPKT if a developer defect isn’t fixed.
Praying that FMCO ends well and soon, so the carpenter and plumber can work together to give me a comfortable home. Until then, I shall stay stress-free and happy #homewithdaph

Haven’t been checking on the renovation progress cuz of MCO (thanks @be.studio_my for constantly doing site visits and updating me 🥺).
Carpentry work is finally done today! Here’s my little dry kitchen 🤍
My @inovarfloormalaysia flooring is done, will reveal the colour soon. It’s time for @phomi_malaysia to give my walls a makeover next week. Then, I’ll start doing loose furniture shopping ✨✨✨
