If you are into museums, you are into history. And if you are visiting Kota Kinabalu, the State Museum is a must-see and the Heritage Village should be in your #bucketlist.

Built in 1985, the Museum is where the British North Borneo Governor’s palace was once located. The exhibits are of Natural History, Ceramics and Archaeology among others. While the Heritage Village beautifully details different types of traditional houses of the various indigenous groups of Sabah, a guaranteed favourite for museum-goers of all ages.

History time!
Skilled in hunting with blowpipes, Murut men in the past believed that they can only get married after presenting at least one head to the family of the desired girl. They actively collect heads until about a century ago, and Murut people were the last of Sabah's ethnic groups to renounce headhunting. Now, they are one of the friendliest people in Sabah. 😁

“How should I pose for you dear? Like this?”

This gorgeous Whitehead’s Broadbill is endemic to Borneo and is named after the British explorer John Whitehead, a naturalist and professional collector of natural history specimens in Borneo. He was also the first European to reach the highest point of Mount Kinabalu in 1888.

Walking into the Northern Branch of the National Palace Museum is like stepping back in time and entering imperial China. With a collection of almost 700,000 artifacts, artworks and exhibits, prepare to immerse yourself in thousands of years of Chinese history and culture.

The Southern Branch of the National Palace Museum opened in Chiayi at the end of 2015. The building's exquisite design incorporates Chinese, Indian, and Persian elements, as well as traditional types of calligraphy and painting techniques. The exhibits cover three major ancient Asian civilizations as well as a diverse range of Asian art culture.

Hey guys, welcome back to a new travel vlog - where I take you to Bhopal(MP) my birth place.
It was a road trip that took us approx 12 hours to reach the main city and I stayed at my Uncle’s house so I had everything planned and places I wanted to show Nia.
Bhopal is situated on hills, surrounded by lakes and has a beautiful weather and there are a few places I feel you must visit if you happen to travel there anytime.
1. Upper Lake - a beautiful scenic spot for boating and hanging out with your friends and family.
2. Sair Sapata - a small spot to just sit and relax.
3. Boat club - it’s meant for boating, eating street delicacies and watching the sunset.
4. Van Vihar National park - a beautiful habitat for animals and a must visit if you’re with kids or love wildlife and nature like me.
5. New Market - for all your shopping needs.
6. Top’n’Town - the most famous ice cream brand in Bhopal serving yummy desserts.
7. Tribal Museum- for those interested in history.

Everyone has different choices I am listing the ones I like and feel are a must visit during your stay in Bhopal.

Visiting Batu Patong, the home of my greatgrandparents, for the first time, in December 2019. You can get there by flying to Miri (Sarawak, Malaysia), then taking a small plane to Bario Highlands. In Bario you will beed to organise for a pick up truck and driver to take you to Batu Patong. Depending on the road conditions it can take up to 45 minutes drive.
