Did you know Barrel Sponges are one of the most primitive animals on earth? They are known to be hermaphroditic - where they have both the female and male reproduction organ together. To reproduce, they will do the spawning process - where male sponge will release the sperm while the female sponge releases the eggs, and the sperm will then meet the eggs in the sea. How fascinating!
