ทีมพัฒนาเกม Blizzard ได้ออกแถลงการณ์ยืนยันว่า Diablo Immortal เกมมือถือภาค Spin-Off ที่เคยเกิดกระแสถกเถียงในสังคมเกม MMORPG อย่างร้อนแรงในช่วงวันเปิดตัวของปี 2019 ได้เปลี่ยนกำหนดการวางจำหน่ายจากเดิมในปีนี้ กลายเป็นช่วงต้นปี 2022 แทน

Blizzard ให้เหตุผลการดีเลย์วันวางจำหน่ายเกม เพื่อต้องการนำข้อเสนอแนะจากเหล่าเกมเมอร์ที่ได้ทดลองเล่นเกมช่วง Technical Alpha ไปพัฒนาเกมให้ดียิ่งขึ้น เช่น ปรับปรุง PvP คอนเทนต์ให้เข้าถึงง่ายกว่าเดิม และปรับคอนเทนต์ PvE ให้สนุกสนานยิ่งขึ้น ซึ่งตอนนี้ทีมงานกำลังพัฒนาระบบให้ตัวเกมสามารถรองรับการใช้คอนโทรลเลอร์ โดยคาดว่าพร้อมให้ใช้งานได้ในการทดสอบรอบถัดไป

แม้ Diablo Immortal เปิดตัวไม่ค่อยสวยเท่าไหร่นัก แต่หลังจากสื่อหลายแห่งได้ทดลองเล่นเป็นครั้งแรก ทำให้เกมดังกล่าวเริ่มมีกระแสตอบรับไปในทางที่ดีขึ้น ด้วยระบบการต่อสู้ที่สนุกสนานเร้าใจ มีกลิ่นอายความเป็นเกม Diablo ต้นฉบับ และระบบต่าง ๆ เข้าถึงง่ายกว่าเกมภาคหลัก
