初秋的紐約最漂亮。我住的酒店在Central Park的西南角，周六早上跟太太拍拖，沿着Central Park West大道往北散步，經過很多仍非常宏偉光鮮的戰前（第一次大戰）Co-op大廈，包括最有名，亦是最漂亮的Dakota。出名的原因是John Lennon，1980年他在正門前被殺，遺孀大野洋子仍居於此。兇手Mark Chapman原是一個Beatles粉絲，亦是一個基督原教義信徒。後來因Lennon自稱Beatles比耶穌更受歡迎，就變成憎恨，結果謀殺了他。
散步完去了The Cloisters。它是The Met（大都會博物館）的一個分館，坐落在非常漂亮的Hudson河畔。建築風格是中世紀歐洲修道院，最有名的正是有蓋走廊（Cloister）包圍着的內庭院。走廊風格似曾相識，原來柱子是由一間Catalan的修道院搬過來的，怪不得挺像Barcelona座堂的內庭院（只差了13隻肥鵝）。
