當中國學者的研究把台灣納到中國並且投書國際醫療期刊《The Lancet》的時候，我國副總統也投了一篇文章說明台灣的健保和行政體系獨立於中國。

Zhou and colleagues compare mortality, morbidity, and risk factors in China and its provinces, between 1990 and 2017. Data from the Global Health Data Exchange clearly showed Taiwan and China are two distinguished countries. Including Taiwan in the analyses makes this Article misleading, biased, and flawed.

The government and health-care system in Taiwan are totally unrelated to China. The disease patterns and risk factors in Taiwan and China are very different. Taiwan has had an independent national health insurance system since 1995. Taiwan has also implemented a series of public health programmes to reduce mortality and morbidity, which are not launched in China. Taiwan has its own cancer registration and death certification system, and the data were not collected by the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, as stated in the Article.1 The health data collected by different mechanisms should not be included in the same hierarchical models.

The inclusion of Taiwan in the analyses biases the mortality, morbidity, and risk factors in China. In a similar Article published in 2016, Taiwan was not included in the analyses. We urge Zhou and colleagues to re-run the analyses by excluding Taiwan to yield unbiased and correct data for China. The Lancet, as an esteemed medical journal, should publish accurate and precise research findings. Such a major categorisation mistake should be rectified.

Taiwan has a totally different healthcare system from China, hence, to compare Taiwan with other provinces of China is absolutely a methodological error. This article should be retracted from your esteemed journal. Please do not allow politics to interfere with research.

Chronic conditions, such as stroke, ischemic heart disease & lung cancer – not infectious diseases – are now top 5 causes of early death in China: finding from a new #GBDStudy of mortality, morbidity & risk factors in #China & its provinces, 1990–2017 by @Institute for health. This is the first comprehensive subnational assessment of health to include data on mortality, morbidity, combined health loss, and risks in China. Major improvements have been made to the GBD methods since the 2013 subnational analysis of population health in China. These include additional causes of death and disability, greater disaggregation of age groups, substantially expanded data sources, the development of data quality ratings, improvements to estimation models, the development of the Socio-demographic Index, consideration of summary exposure values for risk factors, and a fully updated time series of estimates, among other improvements. 【Purpose of the video】
To encourage Cantonese learner to keep it up,
and make more people be interested in Cantonese!

I'm from Taiwan. I have some special feelings about Hong Kong
because my mother is from Hong Kong.
Though I am half from Hong Kong, I can't really speak Cantonese.

I always want to mater my mother's language, Cantonese. It has been difficult
because I didn't have the language environment when I was younger.
Then, the time I'm with my Hong Kong friends becomes the important time to learn Cantonese.

While learning Cantonee, I find it is very difficult because of the tones, slangs etc.
and I believe that many Cantonese learners have the same feelings!

I make this video to pass the message that:
Cantonese is not easy to learn, and let's find out good ways to learn it. Speaking perfectly or not is not the thing we should care about. Never give up learning Cantonese since we all have love toward it.
Let's learn Cantonese together and make more Cantonese speaking friends!
