I have always wanted to be a volunteer in the animal shelter and I finally got a chance to do them a favor. I felt so touched while taking those stray dogs out. After seeing them, I was really appreciate that I had this opportunity to take care of them for one day.

My parents always taught us that a kind act as little as buying food for the needy matters hugely! This is Fatimah on her 5th birthday last month. Instead of buying things for herself, she bought food to distribute to the needy. And we do this regularly, not just on special occasions. I myself believe that a kind touch, a kind smile, a kind word, or even the smallest act of kindness has the power to CHANGE THE WORLD! Here are 11 random acts of kindness that we all can do not just for #RandomActsOfKindnessDay but in our daily lives!

1. When you go shopping, buy extra food to give to the needy or the food bank
2. Volunteer at your local library to read to children
3. Give up your seat on public transport for pregnant women, the elderly and the disabled
4. Write kind words on rocks and leave them at the park
5. Pick up litter on the street to help to clean your neighbourhood
6. Smile at someone, just because
7. Buy someone a cup of coffee on a cold day to keep them warm
8. Send letters of encouragement to sick people in the hospital
9. Take a day off from complaining, but give thanks instead
10. Volunteer at an animal shelter
11. Get others to continue being kind

So @kimlimhl with her heart of gold is an avid animal lover and have been a strong supporter of Animal Lovers League - ALL Authorized Page for years, so she got some of her friends together for a fundraising initiative for Animal Lovers League - ALL Authorized Page!

I must admit I’m not the most kind-hearted or selfless person around and kinda feel, erm, unworthy to be advocating anything charity related, but even a cynical person like me can imagine the immense difficulty in taking care of over 500 animals (be it abandoned, abused or rescued), which is what Animal Lovers League - ALL Authorized Page does - rain or shine, everyday. They are Singapore’s largest and longest running no-kill-shelter. This means they do not put animals to sleep, which would explain why the numbers are so high.

Everyday, volunteers from ALL will feed these animals, treat them if they are ill, bring them to vets, clean them, vaccinate them etc. As you can imagine, it’s tough work, and it is very expensive to maintain.

Therefore, this #ALLThatMatters fundraising initiative with @kimlimhl, Harper's BAZAAR, Singapore and Animal Lovers League - ALL Authorized Page hopes to raise awareness to the public. If you love our furry friends too you can help!
